The Journey

The Aeneas Route traces the legendary voyage of Aeneas, hero of Virgil's Aeneid. After Troy's fall, Aeneas sailed across the Mediterranean, eventually founding the lineage that would establish Rome. The route connects sites mentioned in the Aeneid - Troy (Turkey), Delos (Greece), Carthage (Tunisia), Sicily, and Latium (Italy). These places blend mythology, archaeology, and literary heritage. The Aeneid shaped Western literature and political ideology (Roman imperial legitimacy). The route explores classical mythology, ancient Mediterranean cultures, literary geography, and the transformation of myth into heritage tourism.
