This route follows the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci, connecting places where he lived, worked, and created masterpieces.
The Journey
The Leonardo da Vinci Route celebrates one of history's greatest polymaths - artist, inventor, scientist, and engineer. Leonardo (1452-1519) embodied the Renaissance ideal of universal genius.
The route connects his birthplace (Vinci, Tuscany), Florence (where he trained and worked), Milan (where he served the Sforza court and painted The Last Supper), Rome, and France (where he spent his final years at Amboise).
Sites include museums displaying his paintings, drawings, and inventions; churches with his artworks; engineering projects (canals, fortifications); and landscapes he studied. The route explores Leonardo's artistic innovation, scientific curiosity, and enduring influence.
