The routes connect monuments including the Alhambra (Granada), the Great Mosque of Córdoba, the Giralda (Seville), Medina Azahara, and numerous alcázares, fortresses, gardens, and medinas across southern Spain.
Themes include Islamic architecture and art, the convivencia (coexistence) of Muslim, Christian, and Jewish cultures, scientific and philosophical achievements, irrigation systems, and the lasting influence of Al-Andalus on Spanish culture.
